Prior to this she worked as a Communications Manager for the subsea industry. She also worked as a journalist and a project manager at the weekly publication “Mandag Morgen”, where she mostly covered the energy industry. Helene holds a degree in Mandarin, journalism and international political economy from the University of Sydney. She has also studied Chinese politics at Fudan University of Shanghai, and has written and given presentations on aspects of Chinese development.
Ms Sarah Gillett CMG CVO has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Norway since July 2014.
Ms Gillettt joined the FCO in 1976 and has served overseas in the United States of America, France, Brazil, Canada, and as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
On her appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassador to Norway, Ms Gillett has said "Norway is a great neighbour and partner of the United Kingdom. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to serve such an important relationship. Our shared interests are extensive, and I look forward to ensuring that they continue to be well looked after".

Prior to his current role, he held several management positions including vice president global accounts and industry affairs; global account director for ConocoPhillips; and previously, vice president marketing and technology for the Reservoir Management Group based in London.
Earlier in his Schlumberger career, Domeracki held various operations and marketing management positions throughout North America, including vice president marketing for Well Services, marketing manager for Canada and vice president for GeoQuest Reservoir Technologies. He joined Schlumberger through the acquisition of Intera in 1995 where he served as EVP Reservoir Consulting.
Domeracki has an associate degree in business administration from University of South Carolina and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology, also from the University of South Carolina. He currently serves on several boards for the arts in Houston including TUTS, Houston Grand Opera and the Alley Theatre. Domeracki also is a member of the Executive Advisory Board, American Geosciences Institute in Washington, DC, Executive Board and Gulf Coast Chairman for PESA, Board of Directors for World Affairs Council-Houston, US National Committee of World Petroleum Congress and Executive Board of Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Council.
Chen Xi is a Chinese Native with Canadian Citizenship. He graduated from Donghua University in China (Bachelor Degree) in 1989, further studied in Harvard Business School, London Business School and Norwegian School of Management (Master Degree).
Chen Xi has worked in Elkem since 1995. He served various management positions and held GM position for Elkem China from 2003 to 2008 and is senior advisor to Elkem CEO since 2008. Chen Xi served as board member for Sapa Group in Asia during 2008 - 2010.
In addition he is founder and CEO of Oriental Vikings Investment and Management Group, which is specialized in business turnaround and M&A. Main focus areas include new materials and renewable energy fields.
He also took an active role in high level communications and critical negotiation in Elkem, Elkem Solar and REC M&A deals. Chen Xi is familiar with the Chinese renewable energy sector and has rich business and political contacts in China.
Mehmet has more than 30 years of successful track-record in government, diplomacy, international organisations, banking, and energy business.
He served, inter alia, as a Turkish diplomat, advisor to the Prime Minister, on the international staff of the International Energy Agency and OECD as principal administrator, British Gas Group Director and Invensys chairman of advisory board.
Currently based in London, Mehmet serves as chairman of Global Resources Partnership, an independent non-executive director on the boards of Genel Energy plc and Sisecam Group companies, and a special envoy for The Energy Charter in Brussels for MENA/Eurasia. He also leads the Bosphorus Energy Club, a prestigious exclusive gathering of the top movers and shakers in finance, energy and politics across Turkey, Eurasia, MENA and Southeast Europe. He advises major energy corporations on new investment deals, funding, strategic stakeholder alignment and risk mitigation strategies.
In his early career, Mehmet served as an advisor to the late Turkish Prime Minister, Turgut Ozal and was a diplomat, having worked on critical “economic and energy diplomacy” dossiers in Ankara, Beijing, Brussels and Paris.
After quitting the foreign services in 1994, Mehmet joined as a senior staffer at the International Energy Agency heading Eurasia, Asia-Pacific and Latin America programme and the OECD in Paris managing international investment outreach over 12 years.
Mehmet was for six years the global director for BG Group Plc. in the UK, managing high-level government engagements and new business development around the world. He also worked as the chairman of the International Advisory Board of Invensys (and Dimetronics) until recently.
Mehmet is a graduate of Turkey’s Political Sciences Faculty, London School of Economics (MSc) and College d’Europe (MA), Bruges. He is an occasional lecturer at LSE, Dundee University and Harvard University.
As part of The London Speakers Bureau he often speaks at key international and regional conferences around the world and writes in newspapers on future trends, energy, investment and geopolitical matters.

Born in India in 1952, Vandana Shiva is a world-renowned environmental leader and thinker. Director of the Research Foundation on Science, Technology, and Ecology, she is the author of many books, including Staying Alive: Women, Ecology, and Development (South End Press, 2010) Soil Not Oil: Environmental Justice in an Age of Climate Crisis (South End Press, 2008), Earth Democracy: Justice, Sustainability, and Peace (South End Press, 2005),Water Wars: Pollution, Profits, and Privatization (South End Press, 2001), Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature and Knowledge (South End Press, 1997), Monocultures of the Mind (Zed, 1993), and The Violence of the Green Revolution (Zed, 1992).
Shiva addressed the World Trade Organization summit in Seattle, 1999, as well as the World Economic Forum in Melbourne , 2000. In 1993, Shiva won the Alternative Nobel Peace Prize (the Right Livelihood Award). In 2010, she was awarded the Sydney Peace Prize for her commitment to social justice. The founder of Navdanya (“nine seeds”), a movement promoting diversity and use of native seeds, she also set up the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Ecology in her mother’s cowshed in 1997. Its studies have validated the ecological value of traditional farming and been instrumental in fighting destructive development projects in India.
Before becoming an activist, Shiva was one of India ’s leading physicists. She holds a master’s degree in the philosophy of science and a PhD in particle physics.

Prior to joining WRI, Kevin worked at BT where he was responsible for the Net Good program and was instrumental in transforming sustainability into a business growth strategy. He had previously been an integral part of BT’s sustainability activities with various roles in sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement and sustainability reporting for BT at a corporate level both in the UK and globally. Prior to his involvement in the world of sustainability, Kevin’s career path included product management, marketing and corporate strategy at BT, MCI and BP.
Kevin has been a member of HP’s External Global Citizenship Advisory board, was a member of the Corporate Responsibility Officers Association’s (CROA) Board of Governors and founded and chaired the CROA’s committee for professional development. He was the founding chairperson of the Energy and Environment Committee of the British American Business Association in Washington DC. In 2013 Kevin was included in the 2013 Trust Across America Top 100 Thought Leaders and Guardian Sustainable Business 30 Most Influential Sustainability Voices in America. He was a recipient of the 2009 PR News; CSR Executive of the Year Award.

Originally from London England, Kevin has been living in the Washington DC metro area since the mid 1990’s. When not working Kevin enjoys time spent outdoors and has a passion for music, movies, antiquarian books and old mechanical devices. He is married and the father of two wonderful daughters.
The author of many books and articles on jihadism, including the prize-winning Jihad in Saudi Arabia (Cambridge, 2010), he is currently working on a history of jihadism for Penguin Press. He has also written op-eds for the New York Times, appeared on CNN’s Amanpour and AC360 shows, and testified in the US Congress, the Canadian Senate, and the British Parliament.
