Dr. Thomas Hegghammer
Dr. Thomas Hegghammer is an academic specialist on violent Islamism. He is currently senior research fellow at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) and adjunct professor of political science at the University of Oslo.
The author of many books and articles on jihadism, including the prize-winning Jihad in Saudi Arabia (Cambridge, 2010), he is currently working on a history of jihadism for Penguin Press. He has also written op-eds for the New York Times, appeared on CNN’s Amanpour and AC360 shows, and testified in the US Congress, the Canadian Senate, and the British Parliament.
