Borge Brende
Børge Brende

Børge Brende is a Norwegian politician and has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs since October 2013. He served as Minister of the Environment from 2001–2004 and Minister of Trade and Industry from 2004–2005 and was a member of the Norwegian Parliament from 1997–2009.

Brende served as Chairman of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development from 2003-2004. In 2005, he took up the appointment of International Vice Chairman of the China Council for the International Cooperation on Environment and Development (advisory board to the State Council).

In January 2008, Brende joined the World Economic Forum as Managing Director with particular focus on relations with governments and civil society.

As director of the Energy and National Security Program, Sarah Ladislaw leads CSIS’s work in energy policy, market, and technology analysis. Ladislaw is an expert on U.S. energy policy, global oil and natural gas markets, and climate change and has spearheaded new work at CSIS on climate change, the electricity sector, and energy technology development.

Ladislaw formerly worked in Office of the Americas in the Department of Energy’s Office of Policy and International Affairs, where she covered a range of economic, political, and energy issues in North America, the Andean region, and Brazil. While at the department, she also worked on comparative investment frameworks and trade issues, as well as biofuels development and use both in the Western Hemisphere and around the world. She also spent a short period of time working Statoil as their senior director for international affairs in the Washington office.

Omera is a Full Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Aalborg University Copenhagen and has a key role in advancing the group’s strength in logistics and supply chain research, education and business provision. She is currently a Visiting Professor and Programme Director of the MSc International Supply Chain Management at Royal Holloway University of London and has held visiting positions at MIT (USA) MBS (UK) SP Jain (Dubai & Singapore). During her career, she has supervised several Masters, MBA and PhD theses to successful completion.
