Anita Pratap is an international writer and journalist, the former South Asia Bureau Chief of CNN, Time Magazine and currently Consulting Editor of The Week, India’s largest newsmagazine. She has lived and worked in Europe, United States, India, Saudi Arabia and Japan, covering breaking news stories, ranging from reporting from the 22,000 feet -high Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battleground between India and Pakistan, the wars in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, tsunami, cyclones and the rise and fall of governments. Published by Penguin, her book ‘’Island of Blood’’ was an instant best-seller. She has won several Indian and International awards, including the prestigious American George Polk award for her coverage of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
